Forge Motorsport's R&D department has designed another product to extract extra power. The product in question is the enlarged turbo elbow for the new (2022 on) 1.0Tsi VAG engines. The OEM part’s design requirements are a balance between performance, efficiency, and refinement. Forge Motorsport, has concentrated on the performance aspect of the product, which has been achieved by removing the internal restrictions then enlarging and smoothing out the pathway to the turbo.
With its enlarged capacity and less restrictive surface area it routes air directly into the turbo charger and allows a greater volume of air to be compressed, this has a positive effect on accelerating the vehicle after long deceleration or in between gear changes due to more air being kept within the inlet tract to the turbo charger.
This is a product which is essential when tuning the 1.0 TSI engine (DLAA, DLA) as it was an area where positive gains are achieved. On a tuned vehicle is expected to see consistent gains of 3-5 bhp depending on the vehicles state of tune.
